It’s been a great week and I am so grateful to be back on my natural flow.
I have noticed, and accepted, that there is a natural rise and fall to my routines that coordinates with the rise and fall of my inner barometer. I have weeks (like this one) where I am tuned up and running at beautiful pace.
Not too fast, not too slow, just right.
I accomplish a great deal while not feeling rushed, I eat well, I get plenty of rest and I just feel amazing.
I imagine it’s what zen feels like.
These weeks are usually followed by my “mirror” week.
The opposite world that does the complete opposite.
I am tired, dragging, and hardly get anything done.
The rhythm isn’t following a strict weekly pattern rather it just seems that, like most things, when one thing has run it’s course another steps forward ready for it’s turn. Over the years I have learned to not fight them and rather think of myself as a surfer and just go along for the ride. I let the tide rise me up and take me far out, moving quickly and feeling the exhilaration, then sometimes the wave dies and I am left far from shore sitting on my surfboard wondering how the hell I’m going to get back.
Other times I am more like a little kid, laying on my stomach riding those small-but fast waves back into store as I crash into the beach.
Just like the ocean there is a rhythm and a flow that I personally cannot dictate, only enjoy, support and be a part of.
So, while I am currently on an up-week, getting lots done and enjoying the energy that comes with creativity I am careful to not think to far out, to live in the moment, enjoying and making the best of it.
So I decided today to share my little project with you.
I am excited, nervous and at the same time really challenged by it.
Especially because I only have 2 weeks to finish it 🙂
Ah, I work best under pressure anyway.
So here it is: I am making a Dilettante’s Diary! (seriously just came up with the title as I wrote it 🙂
Don’t worry, it’s not a “Dear Diary” it’s a calendar!
(see the concern over the deadline?)
The calendar will be in digital format but of course you can print it once you get it, and it will have a spot for you to jot down creative ideas, a place to celebrate all you have done along with some creative inspiration provided by me and some of my amazingly creative friends 🙂 There may be verbal prompts, visuals-you name it. My hope is you will keep this calendar somewhere that you see every day, several times a day, as a reminder to keep your creativity as a part of your daily life.
That and you can, well, use it as a calendar 🙂
In addition, each week will have links to some extra special stuff just for you 🙂
I hope to have some samples up for you next week so that you can see and perhaps decide if they may be nice for holiday presents.
I am really excited and cannot wait to share it with you!
So I shall continue to ride this wave, enjoying the spark and joy of my creativity and I hope that whatever place you are in, that you too can ride the wave and enjoy the natural ebb and flow that is creative life!
Don’t forget about my daily podcasts-they are free and you just need to sign up for my newsletter!
Would love to have you!
Until next time….
*As I was writing this post this song came on Pandora-seemed so fitting I wanted to share 🙂
