A new week! I am starting this week feeling a bit frazzled as I cannot believe it’s mid-December!
I still feel like I am getting ready for Thanksgiving Day and here we are fastly approaching Christmas.
My creative projects this week are:
-Preparing for my daughter’s birthday party
-Purchasing a new scanner
-Finishing my Dilettante’s Diary
I am excited that the new routine I talked about last week (with me waking up much earlier than is normal for this night owl) seems to be sticking. I was able to wake up even earlier today than normal.
Over the weekend I took part in a “shop local” vendor fair in my town (a great day!) and some interesting things came up for me.
I talk today in my podcast about how I have always felt I needed to keep my different “endeavors” in little boxes; only allowing in the proper people. I felt that if most people knew all the different pots I had brewing they would laugh and consider me “unfocused” and perhaps even a bit immature for my inability to stick to one thing.
We are a society that teaches from an early age that there is only one road. You choose it when you are 17 or 18, you major in it in college, you get a job in it and you do it until you retire. It is at this point that you can then start enjoying your life doing all the things you now deserve to do because you worked 50 + years to earn it.
When I am inspired, excited, and kept up at night thinking of new ideas (ok and a little too much caffeine);
that is when I feel alive, true and most of all-myself.
Changing the thought process that tells you can’t do it.
I believe you can too.
I am starting to do it again.
