I am struggling and in a bit of a writing funk.
I love blogging but lately feel that I just don’t have much to say. I wonder if it’s the need I feel to write only about creativity here or the fact that I feel I need to have these big, amazing blog posts each and every day.
Ugh, I so choke under self-inflicted pressure.
So I thought I would write about not being able to write and see where it goes!
So far so good.
I am however getting lots of cool crafty things going, writing some poetry; even helped create and act in a skit about writing for the Poetry Open Mic I host.
So I suppose not all is lost.
One of the fun projects I am working on is collecting leaves. The fall has hit the North East and it has been beautiful!
My mother used to take us out and collect leaves for craft projects and so I have been scouring for craft ideas to do with my little girl. (You can follow my craft pins on Pinterest)
So each day while I am out walking I collect some pretty leaves and place them in my wallet or wherever with the plans of pressing them into her book. Recently at poetry group my very cool friend Michelle Haqiqah share a very awesome book she made. It’s a reverse calendar and full of all sorts of cool art and such (you can email Michelle here or check out her amazing photography and artwork here and here!) Completely inspired I went home that night to make one.
Of course the materials I thought I had are hiding so I was forced to invent my own version. Using materials I had been hoarding *cough* collecting I made a little journal/quote book/leaf collection for the fall. Here are some photos of the 3 pages I have done:
It’s been a lot of fun and I carry the book and my fave fine point Sharpies with me everywhere so I can jot down notes.
Saturday after yoga I made note of some poses I wanted to work on.
Hope you are able to enjoy some creative time today and would love for you to share your work in the comments below! Until next time!
