It wasn’t planned and while I needed it and have been working behind the scenes on some really exciting projects there was that voice.
Do you know the one? The one that whispers at us, “see here you go again dropping the ball.” My voice tends to remind me how I never “stick with” something and I always start things then stop them and move on to something else.
If you are also a Dilettante-someone who never ever has just one iron in the fire then perhaps you have heard it too.
We live in a world of specialties, niches, labels. We are supposed to identify ourselves and all we are in 20 second elevator speeches. When asked, “so what do you do?” our answers should come easily and be concise.
“I’m a teacher”
“I’m a manager at a company that sells widgets”
“I’m a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom”
Whenever I am asked that question I tend to take a deep sigh and go, “well….”
I have never really fit into a category-never completely. It’s one of the reasons I prefer the idea of rhythm rather than routine. The idea of daily check-ins with myself to see what my focuses are and what steps I can take to align with them feels much better.
In reality, while my posting schedule and podcast recordings fell aside I was able to really connect with myself, my focus and my work and see what is actually important and to find a way to bring it forth.
I found my rhythm.
So today I return with the creative podcast and my regular blogging rhythm and I would love for you to join me. The site feels new, my work feels reinvented and I cannot wait to share more with all you.
Much love.
Until next time…
Michele, aka The Dreaming Dilettante
