As I mentioned yesterday I have had some big changes in my life-changes that I have been looking for and am excited about-if not just a tad bit nervous. The past few days-maybe even the past week-I have been feeling so great and on such a creative high that I believe I mistook how I was feeling yesterday as being down. I suppose being grounded for someone who likes to dream can feel like depression 😉 It was when I was getting dressed this morning that it occured to me-what I was feeling was grounded. The weighted down, feet on the ground totally present in my body feeling was just me being grounded.
Kinda sucks to be honest.
Alright it doesn’t suck, well, it does, let’s just say it’s not the “high” of being in a space of creativity, always coming up with a idea, scribbling feveriously. I did however allow my analytical brain take a look at things a bit to see what HE had to say (I don’t let him talk much). He simply stated, “On the ground is where things get done.”
Huh, can’t argue there. Ideas, brainstorms, dreaming all have their place (and their own wonderful by products) but until you bring them down, make them tangible they never actually go anywhere.
So I gently reminded myself that life is all about the experience and that includes the highs and the (at first glance)lows and I made the choice to be ever so present in my grounding to sit with this change (thanks to the urging of some amazing goddesses 😉 and allow myself time to move with it and above all to make things happen!
Here is to making things happen! *Cheers*
I love your perspective of being grounded. Creating is my passion, my muse visits often; most the time it's at night when I hit the pillow, LOL. So, I can totally relate to the feelings your are describing. I like your take in being with it, and allowing yourself to move with it…good advice 😉
Allurynn-why must the best ideas come at night-or the shower! I actually found post it notes made for the shower LOL Thank you so much for commenting!
Being grounded is actually pretty awesome if you can learn to make use of those energies (which is sounds like you're starting to do). It's left-brain time for practical planning to make those big dreams happen! Without a plan, without action, without roots in the ground, ideas have nothing to cling to and won't find a place to grow.
My bestestbest suggestion for getting into the grounded energy is to talk a walk outside for a while and just let your mind wander. Connect your feet to the earth and let that planning tendency flow through you. Make sure you have a pen and paper handy cos there'll be some good ideas for making dreams happen!
Ellie Di,
I love your suggestion thank you! We have snow here in the NE and I think that is a beautiful time for a stroll with paper/pen and my camera 🙂
