I am quite excited! I have decided to take the leap and write a poetry e-book! I have been fortunate enough over the last 2 years to have found a wonderful group of fellow poets to share my work with and to delight in theirs. Over the past 2 years I feel my work has changed, evolved (and dare I say grown) to the point where I feel that I can create a book of poems that will flow into one another-and so I have decided to create the book!
Of course my excite is immediately brought on by this feeling of being overwhelmed wondering how I will pull everything together, how will I make it look the way I want (I am not an artist!) but I am trying to calm the voices in my head that start to panic by really enjoying the process and taking baby steps within the project. So I decided a few weeks ago that I would start by taking photos that inspire me. I will carry around my mini camera and snap away at things I see every day and perhaps use them as inspiration for writing as well as pieces to accompany the poetry. And then today-I was drawn to a creative blog post by a Goddess sister named Petrea where she shared a 365 Days of Photos Challenge.
And it seems that what we ask for is in fact given to us.
Now, did I set out thinking it would take me a year to write this poetry book? No of course not! I was hoping to compile works already written with photos I take over the next several months and voila! Of course it is not that simple and I think this challenge is just what I need to keep my over-exicted self from rushing through what can be a very profound experience.
So, I start today. I will gather my tools: A photo album for the pictures that I can pull out for inspiration, a notebook to write my poems and ideas, a pen and of course my camera.
And I will start taking photos, and writing, and writing, and taking photos
And I will see where it all leads. I hope you will join me in promoting yourself, your work, your creativity and take a bold leap in sharing it with the world!
