I am very excited to be celebrating National Poetry Month by being a part of the virtual poetry tour at Upper Rubber Boot Books.
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing reviews, interviews and some of my own poetry.
I am so happy to have reconnected with this form of writing that has been such a powerful medium for me. I look forward to sharing my first review with you soon!
I also wanted to take a moment to remind you about my weekly newsletter and pick-me ups! They are free and you can sign up by clicking the links. The next newsletter goes out tomorrow!
For today I will leave you with a poem inspired by a new project I am working on-I hope you enjoy it!
so quickly images go by- unable to focus
A pill to get going, a drink to keep it that way
a list a mile long, must schedule in “fun”
Ending on time, though would love to stay
more things to do, reminders ring loud
a photo of a dew dropped rose
walk rather than drive
slow down the heart that races inside
fueled with fries and 5 hours of energy
life is being missed as expectations abound
Missing the point
do we expect to check that off
in between yoga and the dentist
baking cakes for a sale
schedule, demand, cannot say no
except to life
missing it
take a breath
and see the point
begin to live
