Today I am sitting outside as I write this post. It’s the first outdoor blog post of the season and to be honest I can’t wait for more.
Writing outside on a gorgeous spring or fall day is probably one of my favorite ways to write and today is no exception. The weather is soft, breezing, a sweatshirt in the shade feels wonderful and in the sun you can sit and stare up and just relax.
I would love to live in the season of spring full time. Never hotter than 75F and just cool enough in the evenings to sit around a fire pit and roast marshmallows. So for today, I am going to enjoy the beginnings of the season. I am making plans for my garden this weekend. Mother’s Day is traditionally a day where I start my garden and spend the day with the family outside and planting flowers.
Saturday my husband and I collaborated and he built me a rustic potting table that I have been wanting. I absolutely love her and she is even more beautiful being that she was made using reclaimed wood from the 100 + year old barn on our property. I named her Agnes and I cannot wait for us to work together officially this weekend.
For now I have pots filled with soil waiting.
My strong plants are currently acclimating to the weather on our front porch and I am clearing any remaining weeds that have turned up since the weather warmed.
It’s a great way to spend a day.
I hope for you that your Monday is able to have some soft spots. I am restoring after a weekend spent with people (a lovely weekend but a weekend with large groups non the same) and I can’t think of a better way to restore the body and spirit than a spring day spent outdoors.
Much love.
Until Next Time…
