This is my 3rd year of working through Leonie Dawson’s workbook to create a better New Year.
I didn’t even really remember completely last year’s until I sat down and looked at it.
Didn’t realize I had even finished it.
In fact, I purchased this year’s workbooks (both personal and business) thinking I never finished last year’s.
I could say that is atypical behavior for me but I assure you it is not.
Today, I sat down and really committed to working through it-even though my first glance through was kinda filled with a “ugh, that looks like a lot of work.”
(You know, because attaining dreams so should be so simple and easy 😉
As I worked through it became more fun. My energy picked up. I thought, “I can DO these things.” I released 2012, I am planning 2013-woohoo!
I also realized, after reading through last year’s workbook, how many of my dreams, made late in 2011, were realized in 2012.
It made me think about how much more I would have realized if I had been active in remaining connected to my dreams.
If you think about it, when you start a new relationship with someone, you don’t go out once, have a fabulous date, great conversation and a real connection and then never speak again until the wedding.
It would be obsurd to think that you could build a relationship just by setting the intention and walking away.
Why would I even think that? NOTHING works that way.
You can’t buy a plant, all pretty and full of blooms, stick it in a room and leave it, expecting it to grow.
So why would I think my dreams would work that way?
I need to be connected to my dreams.
I need to remember the goals I set early on.
I need to adapt them as my life and perspectives change.
I need to have regular dates with them.
So, as I continue to work through, the part I am most excited about are ritual days.
I am going to meld this with my Dilettante’s Diary to create these beautiful dates with my dreams.
I am going to woo my dreams.
I am going to wine them, show them how much I care for them.
I am going to work at realizing my dreams.
Huh, what a novel idea 🙂
Happy New Year to you and YOUR Dreams.
2013 is OUR Year!!!
